Candida Acne is a very complex condition, and there is no one single cure for acne that will suit everyone. For some people it is a genetic battle, for others, it is due to hormones, and some people simply cannot tolerate certain foods. There are those who are still suffering from acne as an adult yet may have seemingly tried everything, follow a balanced diet and yet still cannot get their acne under control.
In certain cases, acne in women may be down to a single infection called Candida. Candida albicans is a yeast that typically lives in our digestive tract and vagina. Certain things in our body ensure that the candida is kept in balance, including our immune system and probiotics.
However, if we have a course of antibiotics (which will be the case for many acne sufferers being treated for acne by their doctors), our immune systems are not functioning as well as they should. The candida alba can begin to overgrow and outnumber the level of friendly bacteria in our bodies. The result of this can be a variety of ailments including skin infections like acne. In addition to long-term antibiotics, other causes of candida overgrowth can include the contraceptive pill, steroids, anti-ulcer creams, smoking and high sugar diets.
It is important to self-diagnose this condition merely by creating a link between one of these causes and a cure for acne. To determine whether candida is contributing to your acne, it is best to visit your doctor who will carry out the necessary tests.
However, those who have identified candida successfully have seen striking results in combating their symptoms and finding a concrete cure for acne by doing a combination of things. Some people get relief after coming off the contraceptive pill and then following a sugar-free diet.
This sugar-free diet is known as the Candida Diet. It involves removing sugar in the first three weeks and limiting carbohydrates to only 60 grams per day. You have to follow this religiously as sugar encourages yeast growth.
Furthermore, you will need to avoid all manner of yeast products including bread and alcohol. Be sure to check processed foods for hidden yeast. The best thing is to avoid processed foods altogether as this will help you on your path to becoming acne free.
Acne is just one symptom of many Candida. Acne sufferers who often crave sweets and break out from eating sugar are 100% Candida sufferers. It is due to Candida feeding on sugar voraciously and overgrowing as a result. If you cut out the sugar which is their lifeline and make some other dietary changes, you can expect to find some relief.
The three main reasons associated with the majority of acne problems are tied to an unhealthy colon. When the colon is weakened due to impacted fecal matter, many health risks are the result including acne. The three internal problems that can lead to mild to severe acne are as follows:
1. Poor elimination of waste from the bowel (primary)
You see, the foods we eat today tend to be very high in sugar content and starches, like flour. Add these to some unhealthy oils, and the colon can easily become packed with waste that should have been removed but just sits there feeding bacteria back into the blood stream. This leads to many illnesses, not just an acne problem. So the poorly eliminating colon becomes a feeder of poisons hence the other organs must deal with. The liver becomes overtaxed. When it can no longer handle the large, it amounts of toxins, the skin, and the other organs of the body must pick up the slack in eliminating waste. Your body strives to maintain a balanced, healthy environment. Because the toxins are foreign to this environment, the body “knows” to expel them anyway it can.
2. Dry built-up skin is blocking the pores from over-drying products.
Drying agents and over-the-counter products don’t do the trick, either. In fact, they often make it worse and more painful because of the buildup of dry skin blocking, even more, pores. Almost all of the drying agents, such as salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, dry out the upper layers of the dermis (skin) and make it to flake and peel. The key to an additive is Salicylic acid. In many skin-care products, the Salicylic acid used for treating acne, calluses, dandruff, psoriasis, corns, and warts.
Like benzoyl peroxide, it causes affected skin cells to flake off. However, as these agents dry the skin-job they were designed to do the flakes can build up and block pores where oil and bacteria can create infections and pustules. It can lead to deep inflammation and cystic acne breakouts-exactly the opposite effect of what you are trying to accomplish. These agents are manufactured to prevent acne but instead contribute to acne. Cystic acne can be a severe acne problem. Mostly, this kind of acne is defined as the occurrence of abscesses (localized infections) that are resistant to healing.
Characteristics include:
– deep infections with large nodules or cysts
– infections that do not “come to a head” on the surface
– little or no discharge
– blackheads and whiteheads that may or may not be present
– very slowly healing infections that can become a chronic problem
– probably scarring
3. Overgrowth of candida acne yeast
Toxins are in the body and blood stream. The compacted waste in the colon contributes to the higher than normal presence of Candida yeast, which produces toxins of its own. These toxins add to the already heavy burden of the body trying to remove them. Almost every time Candida is brought under control, acne diminishes or disappears entirely. To detoxify the body completely, you needed to remove the metals and toxins in the liver that will prolong acne relief.
Candida Albicans is a naturally occurring yeast in our bodies and for one reason it is getting a bit of a bad rap. While it’s true that many of the resultant problems of too much candida in our bodies can be serious, many of us might be dead if it wasn’t for candida.
Candida is the body’s backup system when our bloodstream becomes flooded with to much sugar. The body normally releases insulin to deal with the problem. That amount of sugar simply overwhelms our system and insulin simply cannot handle it. Candida comes to the rescue at this point. By swelling up and “eating” all of the excess sugar, it saves us from serious injury and even death.
The problem is we keep eating our highly processed, sugary diets. This is the real link you have to worry about. Sure, candida itself can and does contribute to acne by inhibiting our body’s natural functions. If we weren’t eating these crappy diets, there would be no link between acne and candida. It’s the same thing as saying that oil, dead skin and bacteria are causing our breakouts; they’re not. They’re all secondary factors for the real and actual causes of acne.
There is indeed a link between acne and candida. However, this link is a non-item. If you attack the roots of the problem by first beginning with our highly processed and sugary diets, the link will cease to exist, and you would see your acne clear up by itself.
However, if you have had acne for a while, then you will need to do a complete protocol that targets the root causes of your Candida to achieve lasting relief.
